Expert Insight
Hikmah Dashboard Reminders offers a highly polished, spiritually grounding addition to the WordPress admin environment, specifically tailored for Muslim site administrators, content creators, and agencies looking to integrate daily reflection into their workflow. From an operational standpoint, the plugin is exceptionally lightweight, utilizing native WordPress APIs to manage user-specific favorites and settings without bloating the database with custom tables. By rendering these curated reminders directly within a standard dashboard widget, it provides a seamless, non-intrusive user experience that enhances the daily backend routine without disrupting administrative tasks.
Key Strengths & Role: The plugin excels in its clean implementation of native WordPress development standards, particularly its use of user-meta options for storing individual favorites, which ensures clean database uninstallation. The inclusion of the native Web Share API for mobile users and a robust clipboard fallback for desktop demonstrates a modern approach to asset management, while the curated library of over 95 authenticated sources provides immediate, high-quality value out of the box.
Potential Limitations & Pitfalls: The primary technical consideration is compliance-related: the widget stylesheet imports the Amiri and Nunito font families directly from Google Fonts. For sites operating under strict GDPR or DSGVO jurisdictions, this external request constitutes a data-sovereignty risk, requiring administrators to manually dequeue or modify the stylesheet to self-host these assets locally.

Hikmah Dashboard Reminders brings the light of Islamic wisdom directly into your WordPress admin area. Hikmah (حكمة) means wisdom in Arabic — a fitting name for a plugin that delivers authentic Quranic verses and Hadith to remind and inspire you while you work.

Why “Hikmah”?
The word hikmah appears in the Quran itself: “He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good.” (Quran 2:269). This plugin is designed to be that small daily good — a moment of reflection before a day of work.
Privacy
This plugin does not collect any personal data. Favourite reminders are stored as WordPress options keyed to each user’s ID and are removed entirely on uninstall.
The widget stylesheet loads the Amiri and Nunito font families from Google Fonts. If you operate under strict data-privacy requirements (e.g. GDPR), consider self-hosting these fonts and removing the @import line from assets/widget.css.
